Welcoming Two New Faces to the debra of America Team!
debra of America is growing! We're thrilled to announce two new additions to our team who bring passion, experience, and fresh energy to our mission of improving the lives of everyone affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB): Daniel Martinez, Senior Director of Development, and Brooklyn Snyder, Programs Manager.
Both Daniel and Brooklyn join us at an exciting time — just ahead of the 2026 debra Care Conference (DCC) in Los Angeles — and both are eager to meet the community they'll be serving. Get to know them below!
Meet Daniel Martinez, Senior Director of Development

Daniel joins debra of America with a career dedicated to supporting patients and families across the rare disease community. Before coming to debra, he held fundraising leadership roles at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the National Scleroderma Foundation, as well as patient advocacy roles at Horizon Therapeutics and Amgen, where he partnered with patient organizations and healthcare providers to advance education, awareness, and access to care.
In his own words:
"Although I've spent much of my career in the rare disease community, I knew very little about EB before connecting with debra. Like many people, I had heard of 'butterfly disease,' but I didn't fully understand why it's often described as 'the worst disease you've never heard of.' I still have a lot to learn, and I'm looking forward to continuing that education at the upcoming debra Care Conference by listening to and learning from individuals and families living with EB.
What drew me to debra was the opportunity to combine my passion for rare disease advocacy with my fundraising experience to build on the incredible work the team has already accomplished. I'm excited to bring a fresh perspective, build meaningful relationships, and help expand debra's impact for the EB Community."
Outside of work: Daniel lives in Denver with his wife, Amy, their two kids, Boston and Liyah, and their dog, Gordon — which means plenty of time outdoors as a family. He also coaches girls basketball and soccer, and you're far more likely to find him in the Colorado mountains in the summer than the winter!
Meet Brooklyn Snyder, Programs Manager

Brooklyn comes to debra of America from the nonprofit sector, where she has built her career around mission-driven work and forming meaningful relationships within the communities she serves. As Programs Manager, she'll support debra's direct services — including creating care packages and coordinating our Wound Care Distribution Program — that bring tangible, everyday support to individuals and families living with EB.
In her own words:
"Throughout my career in the nonprofit sector, I've been inspired by organizations that create meaningful, lasting impact, and the opportunity to support individuals and families affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa immediately resonated with me. What has stood out to me most is the strength and compassion of the EB Community, and I'm honored to join an organization that serves alongside such an inspiring group of individuals and families.
I'm especially looking forward to getting to know the community and being part of this year's DCC Kids' Zone! I'm excited to learn, grow, and contribute to the incredible work already being done."
Outside of work: You can usually find Brooklyn outdoors exploring Colorado on the lookout for cool insects — or curled up with a fantasy novel, surrounded by a pile of crafts and her cat, Suki.
Say Hello at the 2026 DCC!
